  2. Wellbeing

A wellbeing curriculum is crucial in providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to establish strong trusting relationships with adults and peers, navigate challenging social situations and manage their emotions effectively. By providing explicit teaching and guidance in social and emotional learning, each student has the opportunity to positively take control of their learning and play to experience success.

Berry Street

At Callington Primary School our philosophy is based on the Berry Street Education Model that insists on consistent predictable routines and unconditional positive regard. The rationale and strategies implemented support our students to feel safe, nurtured and focussed, ready to take on the challenge of school and life, while supporting their wellbeing and resilience.

Play is the Way

Play is the Way is a fun set of games, life lessons and questions that teach students the language to engage positively with others, reflect on their own behaviour and work toward becoming a person of good character.

Kimochis

The Kimochis program run by our Pastoral Care Worker is a series of lessons that support our younger students to build emotional awareness, confidence and positive relationships by learning to recognise, talk about and manage their feelings.

Pastoral Care Worker

Jeanette Mann our Pastoral Care Worker is a vital member of our team who provides wellbeing support to all of our students (and staff) through weekly wellbeing lessons, 1:1 student support, Breakfast club, extra activities during break times and a friendly listening ear. Come and meet Jeanette on Monday mornings and every Wednesday throughout the year.
